2013 NewFO Challenge

Hi Everyone!!

Barbara over at Cat Patches hosted this 2013 NewFO Challenge linky party.

2013NewFO

This is my second year joining the fun.  It is about getting started a New Project each month without to worry to finish it. Following are what on my NewFO wish list for the first two months in 2013 in no particular order…

I intend to join About A Quilt Sampler QAL : A sampler quilt with custom quilting hosted by Amira  at  littlemushroomcap

This QAL is going to be all about how to do customize quilting. It will be about quilting  by block using a domestic machine and the quilt as you go technique for each block.
The finished project will look like this…

Another project that I'm looking forward is to make a quilt for my son using this  fabric bundle.

I still not decide on the pattern but these are some options that I’m looking at …time will tell
A zig zag or

a log cabin four patch pattern

That's all I can list for today ...Some bloggers have more but I will keep my list short for now.
Visit Cat Patches to see what others are planning for 2013.

Happy Quilting!!

One Flower Wednesday #12

Hello Friends!

Another week past by and Wednesday is here again...time just fly too fast for me.  This is my flower from my garden today...  The weather is beautiful ... bright and fresh.  Do you ever think that today's date(with repeated numbers like this-12-12-12) is once in our life time ? And what a coincidence, my One Flower Wednesday post is also # 12.

Thanks to All the Mighty for all the beautiful things happen today... and thanks Karen for hosting this fun garden party at Journey of a Quilter.  Remember to visit other blogger's garden to look at their flowers today!

Ruffled Earflap Hat

Hi everyone!!

Another crocheted hat that I've finished yesterday...It is a gift for a friend who just gave birth to a baby girl.
It is an earflap hat with ruffle in size for a new born.

I am in the midst of writing the pattern. I used a lot of hdc and sc stitches for this pattern.  It is suitable for a beginner level.

Happy Crocheting!!

Happy Little Pouches

Hi Everyone!

Today I have two pouches to share which I’ve finished during the weekend. First up is this scrappy pouch which I made for myself using the Coquette fabric.

Not that satisfied with the result… I hand stitch a yellow thread to make it more outstanding, and the result…it makes the scrappy block looks as being frame. Hmmm…now I’m happy!
The size of this pouch is approximately 5.5” H x 3” D x 9” L. It is big enough for keeping all my left over yarns from other crocheted projects.
Next pouch that I’ve finished is a boxy pouch. My eight years old daughter request for a new pencil box and I choose to follow the Pontoms box pouch tutorial by Mommy’s Nap Time. To make it more interesting for a little girl I sew this bug for the zipper puller…
The finished size of this pencil box pouch is approximately 2” H x 3” D x 7” L. This is my first try to sew a boxy pouch… and I’m happy with the result.

I am lucky to have finished both of these pouches on time to submit for the Happy Little Pouch Hop.
