Weekend Handbag

Hi Everyone!!

I've been working on this handbag for a few weeks now and today I am ready to share the finished handbag.

It was made from three FQ Vintage sheet which I bought from Ironsea Etsy shop. The owner of the shop, Ms. Jeni  was kind enough to put together combination of 10FQ Vintage fabric. I  never use Vintage sheet in making bags before and this is my first.

This is how I did the center of the bag using the scraps from the same fabric.

Scraps fabric that I used for the center.

This is how the front bag looks like after the center was done.

It includes with internal pocket for keeping small items.

The finished size of the main body of the bag is 12"height  x 13" length.  It is a shoulder length handbag using medium weight fusible and the pattern is my own. Like many other bags that designed by me it comes with a curvey bottom. This is the first bag designed by me that comes with a flap.   Here my daughter modelling it to give you an idea of the bag size.

I am very happy with the result.  I submitting this handbag as my entry to Purse Palooza contest hosted by Sara at Sew Sweetness.  Hop over to Purse Palooza flickr group and see what other talented sewers are doing.

Hexagon Bag

Photobucket
Hi everyone!!
I should have posted about this Purse Week : A Contest sooner but I spent almost all of my free time working on my entry.  I've decided to come up with my own pattern this round and it was really a good experience for me !  Remember the post that I wrote about these hexagons...

I have been playing around with the idea of creating a bag pattern from these haxegons and this was some sort of a trial version.  There are still a lot more work to be done to the pattern but I'm happy with what I've ended up with....

 I call it Haxegon Bag
It comes with a key holder at the side and a pocket.
If you happen to know about Purse Week only today, make sure to go over to A Lemon Squeezy Home for lots of bag inspired tutorials. To see what other talented people did...click HERE.

Bag

I just love sewing bags ...
The latest project that I accomplished is also a bag...
I used the same pattern as the reversible bag
but with some modification.
This is not a reversible bag ...
I make it bigger in size and the rest all remain the same
as the reversible bag pattern...  velcro for the closure,
with internal pocket for small items, and
with a fabric flower attached at the front.
This time the fabric flower is not a clip,
I sew the fabric flower to the bag permanently...
in other word, you have no choice...
like it or not you have to use the bag with it.
Hope you enjoy viewing and thanks for stopping by !!

Stash Project ...

This week project was a bag made from stash fabric.
This is my first try to sew a quilt bag.
Basically I have nil experience in quilting.
I do a lot of patchwork project but never quilting.

Looking at my work I have to admit that I need to follow
a quilting class to improve further.
Anyway I am happy with the result. Pattern of the bag
is my own...

I am sharing my project by linking to the following parties...

Reversible Bag

This is the latest shoulder bag completed last week.  I've not manage to post
it up earlier due to the Blogger site which was down for the
last few days. Basically it is a reversible shoulder bag ...
and  the flower attached was the one that I've did much earlier
as embellishment for this bag.
It is a fabric flower pin.  So you can take it off when you reverse the bag  inside out.
And you may pin it anyway at the bag...
OR you may choose to use the bag plain without the flower pin.

Sunflower bag

Last weekend I've completed sewing an order from a friend for a shoulder bag. It has two inside pockets for storing all must have items. The bag pattern initially was  from the shoulder bag version that I've sewn for myself in my earlier post dated on October 11,2010. Sunflower bag pattern however have some slight changes from the 1st version - if you can see the different, I've obmitted the pleated at both side of the handle and it comes with a zipper. The rest remain the same.
I also sew a wristlet purse as a gift for her to use with the bag. Hope she likes it.

Following bag was created for the "Purse Week" submission.  I just can't make it due to the link already disable by then.  Anyway I share it here with everyone.

I've sewn this bag in the month of June and now only I managed to upload it.  I call it "June shoulder Bag" and it is from my own pattern.
